Project 1: "Realistic" SketchUp exterior modeling.

Project 2: Construction Detail Modeling with SketchUp

Project 3: Creating a building model in Revit

  • Hand-out: 3/24
    Due: Fri, 4/11
  • Submit:
    3 Floor plans - Basement, first, second (show major dimensions)
    1 Elevation - Front only
    1 Section - One building section (section label must be shown on all floor plans)
    Print all with your own title block (important: design your own template) on 11x17 paper.
  • Don't send me your files!
  • Instructions: This project comprises of the house model created in lessons 5, 6 (include footings), 7 & 8 (8-1 floors only, no ceilings) from the textbook.

Project 4: Kitchen planning in Revit

  • Hand-out: 4/14
    Due: Fri, 4/25 (as three printouts)
  • Instructions. Check lessons 11-2 and 13 for how-to references. Create your interior elevations similar to image 11-2.14 in the textbook.
  • Revit Model

Project 5: A Parametric Revit Family

  • Hand-out: 5/1
    Due: Fri, 5/9 (as one .RFA file)
  • Instructions:
    Create one parametric Revit family of your choosing. This can be a furniture item, a wall-based family, a door etc. (choose from the available family templates).
  • The family must have:
    - At least one parameter
    - Two or more types (different sizes, options etc.)
    - Materials
  • You can experiment with:
    - Formulas that link parameters
    - Conditional parameters (IF... THEN), parametric arrays etc.
    (look into the Revit Help > Tutorials to find out more about these).

Project 6: SketchUp, Revit and the Sun


To download documents or images, right-click on the link above, then select "Save Target As..." (IE) or "Save Link Target As..." (Netscape) and save it in a convenient loation.

You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view some linked files. The current version can be downloaded from Adobe here.
