The Mass Ensemble performance group combines the creative abilities of artists, musicians, composers and choreographers to create a blend of sculpture, music, dance and visual arts. From April 30 through May 4 these internationally renowned artists will be coming to UMass to help celebrate the 30th anniversary of the UMass Fine Arts Center. Their culminating performance, E=FAC2 Mass Ensemble in Critical Mass, is a musical and sculptural extravaganza inspired by Einstein’s science.

Throughout the week, the UMass physics department will be contributing to the festivities with:
An image exhibit in the student union gallery on The Art of Science.
A science exhibit in the Fine Arts Center lobby.
A talk on Einstein’s science and his role as artist in creating scientific theory.
