EDUC 395Z Teaching Team

Professor Ximena Zúñiga is the course director of EDUC 395Z. She leads the teaching team that trains and supervises the graduate student facilitators who are responsible for leading the undergraduate sections. Ximena Zúñiga is an associate professor affiliated with the Social Justice Education concentration, Department of Student Development and Pupil Personnel Services, School of Education, University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Prior to her current position, she was the director and co-founder of the Program on Intergroup Relations at the University of Michigan. She has written, presented and conducted research on many aspects of the theory, research and practice of intergroup dialogue on college campuses. She consults regularly with faculty, administrators and student affairs professionals on other campuses who are interested in the development and evaluation of intergroup dialogue practices.

Each section of EDUC 395Z is facilitated by two trained graduate students from the Social Justice Education Program, who participate in a simultaneous practicum to hone their facilitation skills and engage in critically reflective practice.
