2004-10-18just a short reminder that if you're still unsure about ling201,
the last day to drop the class with a 'w' (withdraw) is approaching.
according to the registrar's academic calendar it's on monday, october 25th.
dropping a class with 'w' will not have an adverse impact on your cumulative average, which makes a 'w' on your transcript nearly always preferable to an 'f'. if you have questions or need advice about this, feel free to contact me, chris, or the office of your academic dean.

you know that even though it says "due oct. 1" on top of the new
assignment, it's actually due on monday, oct. 4.
however, it might not be a bad idea to look over it for the friday discussion section, so you can ask questions about it. and of course it's always okay to turn in homework early ;o)

In part B, (5b) it reads: "If S is a constituent in a sentence A, then A
can be ..." while it should say: "If S is a constituent in a sentence A,
then S can be ...". Sorry, hope this hasn't caused too much confusion!
