AttendanceThere will be lectures on Monday and Wednesday and group work on Friday. You have to attend the lectures and actively participate in group work to do well in this class. ReadingsThere will be weekly reading assignments.You cannot do well in this class without doing the readings. ParticipationWe want you to participate actively. Class participation will be 10% of your final grade. Participation includes participation in class discussions, but also collecting unfamiliar terms and relevant phenomena you might come across. QuizzesThere will be four announced in-class quizzes (see schedule for exact dates). The quizzes will account for 30% of your final grade. Small written assignmentsThere will be regular short written assignments to be completed individually (about one typed page). They will account for 40% of your final grade. Project reportYou will be involved in a group project whose results will be presented in class. Each of you will also hand in an individual report on his/her part in the project (about 10 pages, typed). Your individual project report will account for 20% of your final grade.
