Solving practice problems is very helpful. Here are some resources:
- Answers to odd-numbered problems in the text (SJ) are provided at the
end of the book.
- The text has a number of 'Quick Quiz' questions in the text, the
answers to which are at the end of each chapter, after the problems.
- The 'Questions' given at the end of each chapter, before the problems,
are also good practice.
- Quizzes that were given in class are good practice for the exams, but the exam questions will in general be more difficult and involved.
- Practice exams with solutions (mid-term exams from previous
years). Some were written by a previous instructor so the format and
scope might be different, but these should still be useful as practice.
- 2005 first midterm and solutions.
- 2005 second midterm and solutions.
- Quizzes and practice quizzes; see above.
- 2003 second midterm (which is shorter, because it was given in class) (pdf).
-
1999 first midterm (made by another instructor).
- 2000 first midterm
(Microsoft Word, 1.1MB and 0.8MB, respectively; made by another instructor).
- A first midterm exam, without solutions (pdf) (made by another
instructor).
