| Term Paper |
|
A term paper, limited to 10 double-spaced pages, is optional for most
students, but students taking this course for Honors credit must
submit the term paper as part of their regular course requirements. It
must be submitted no later than December 22, the last day of the semester.
The term paper should be based on library research, and it should deal
with an area of literature (theory and research) relevant to some aspect
of persuasion covered in the course. It should contain an introduction,
describing the questions that will be addressed; a review of the
relevant literature, describing the major theories and research
findings; and a conclusion section which tries to answer the questions
raised in the introduction. In terms of style, the paper should follow APA guidelines for manuscript preparation: Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (2001) (5th Ed.). Washington, DC: American Psychological Association. A brief introduction and overview of the APA guidelines can be found in: Rosnow, R. L., & Rosnow, M. (1995). Writing papers in psychology (Third Ed.). Pacific Grove, CA: Brooks-Cole. |
