Course Requirements
Students are expected to attend all class sessions and to read assignments ahead of time. Course grades are based on two exams and on class attendance and participation. Each exam is given a weight of 45%, and participation a weight of 10%. The exams are of the short-answer open-book type and contain 6 to 8 questions. In addition, students may submit an optional term paper that can raise final grades up to one letter grade (e.g., from B to A, or from C– to B– ). The term paper should review an area of literature (theory and research) relevant to some aspect of persuasion covered in the course. The term paper is limited to 10 double-spaced pages (3000 words) and must be submitted no later than May 20. (Students taking this course for Honors credit must submit the term paper as part of their regular course requirements; in this case, grades are weighted 35% for each exam, 20% for the term paper, and 10% for participation.)

Please note that no make-up exams or incompletes are given except in cases of documented illness or family tragedy!!
