Writing in Political Science

 

Political Science 399 satisfies the University's junior year writing requirement.

This course

  • Introduces students to some of the analytical tools used by political scientists

  • Promotes greater awareness of the various ways "spin doctors" and others with very strong positions favoring or opposing parties, candidates, or policy proposals may use deceptive forms of argument

  • Provides students with opportunities to improve their own writing trough short exercises and papers that they have an opportunity to rewrite after receiving comments on a first draft
